SquareMeal Review of Clive's Midtown Diner

This is the first venture from chef Toby Aldenhoven (formerly of Bodega Negra and Casa Negra), a 30-cover, independent American diner inspired by his childhood in Massachusetts. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there are drinks and bar snacks available throughout the afternoon, brunch at the weekends and the option to takeaway. You will find a short menu of diner classics: buttermilk fried chicken with a Sichuan pepper sauce, braised pork bun with xni-pec, and panko-crusted zucchini fries.  Lighter options are available for lunch, such as the quinoa and roast vegetable wrap.  East Coast diner favourites, clam chowder and fried clams, also make an appearance. Drinks are locally sourced, with beers from Camden and Meantime breweries and soft drinks from Dalston Cola, alongside shakes and floats. The interior is designed by Berdoulat, with graphic branding by East London studio Superwire.
