There’s plenty of Tex-Mex food in London, but proper Mexican restaurants are relatively few on the ground, so we’re delighted that this new purveyor of the cuisine has landed in foodie Exmouth Market. Based on the Oaxaca barbacoa markets, Cielo Blanco is an offshoot of a Leeds-based original. Its kitchen offers a selection of sharing plates such as roast chicken with chilli chicken pot stew, tamales, grilled corn and spring onions; or cumin roast pork belly with baby back ribs and smoky sausage stew. Nevertheless, there are also burritos, empanadas and enchiladas aplenty to appease those who like to keep their food to themselves. A Margarita is the obvious choice of appetite sharpener on the drinks list, but if you’re on a health kick you’ll appreciate the range of cleansing and energising freshly pressed juices.
