Laura H. bronze reviewer 07 April 2014

I live in North London but booked lunch at Chimichanga in Wimbledon as my Mum and I were going to a matinee at the New Wimbledon Theatre afterwards and the restaurant is directly across the road from the theatre. We are vegetarian and the choice was great – we always know it is when we have trouble deciding. We plumped for the Courgette and Portebello Mushroom Wrap which came with rice, fries or salad. And yes, of course we had fries! And for a starter we shared nachos, as we always do. We had 2 hours to kill before the show and so we ordered a pitcher of margarita and the nachos when we arrived, and planned to wait to order our main course for a while after we finished the nachos. We told the first waiter this and he came and asked a couple of times if we wanted to order our mains and after we had sent him away a couple of times he said “let me know when you do”, but of course the other waitresses did not know this and so kept asking us as well. One of them had only just come on duty and saw us drinking the margarita and asked if we wanted to order olives or something and we had to explain that we had already eaten nachos. The attentiveness did not get annoying enough for me to leave a bad review, but other people may find it a bit too much. We would go back there if we hadn't discovered that Wahaca has just opened down the road and that is our Mexican restaurant of choice so where we will most likely go when we go to the theatre again in September.
