Squaremeal Review of Café Boheme ?

CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR REFURBISHMENT AND DUE TO REOPEN IN EARLY 2018

It’s “not as ‘boheme’ as it was back in the day”, but this Soho classic is still a useful all-dayer and a diamond for people-watching. The interior wears its 20-plus years well, aping a Parisian brasserie complete with zinc-topped bar and red-leather banquettes designed for cheek-by-jowl dining, while ever-accommodating staff deliver brilliant service. The kitchen excels in “strong, classic Gallic cooking”, with enjoyable options including soupe à l’oignon, steak tartare, escargots, niçoise salad, Toulouse sausages and suchlike. It’s also one of the best places to “grab a quick steak”, complete with herb butter and frites at refreshingly reasonable prices. The all-French wine list is on the money, international breakfasts and boozy brunch are big calls, and there’s even live music during the afternoon at weekends. A laid-back ambience ensures all ages and degrees of coolness fit in.

I love coming into the city on a Sunday, enjoying a lovely brunch, Eggs Benedict for me and Waffle for my partner, with a mimosa or two..Cafe Boheme is the absolute perfect place to do this. The ambiance is fabulous, I love the decor, the wait staff are meticulous, and really go above and beyond to make your visit pleasant and the food better than Yummy. You can't go wrong. Two Thumbs Up!

Today I met a friend for lunch at Cafe Boheme in Soho. I've always really liked Cafe Boheme. I love French food and the menu has always been good and the service just brilliant. We rocked up not having made a reservation and managed to get a table for two. The staff are always so pleasant and go out of their way to look after you. I love the decor, very smart. I guess the only downside is that the tables and chairs are tightly packed together so there is a little bit of bumping and shoving. But...
