Brady's closed permanently on 28 April 2019
If you’re looking for something less raucous than the regularly mobbed Ship in Wandsworth, head to its towpath neighbour Brady’s – now a jolly fish restaurant with a (very) well-lit bar and breeze-fanned river-facing terrace to boot. Hand-pulled pints from Faversham’s Shepherd Neame, 18 wines (all under £25) and Champagne at just £27.80 for Edouard Brun are what to drink if you don’t fancy one of five house cocktails such as Corpse Reviver No 2 or Firenze (an Italian spritz). Bar snacks include whitebait, potted shrimps, West Mersea oysters and smoked fish platters, while the restaurant menu plays it fresh and sensibly simple – think grilled fish of the day direct from Newlyn or Grimsby, plus various battered species with chips, fishcakes, tiger prawns, mackerel pâté, cockles and mussels, followed by fruit crumbles, tarts and ices.
