Bocconcino 1

Squaremeal Review of Bocconcino ?

Peer down from the mezzanine walkway, then descend the spiral staircase for a touch of glitz, but no tablecloths, at Bocconcino – the first London outing from the Moscow-based pizza/pasta chain. Soft, comfy beige seats encourage lingering and the moneyed Mayfair set seem relaxed as they enjoy mounds of salmon tartare or boards of rich cured meats paired with springy, salty focaccia. For mains, we loved the big, authentic flavours of slow-cooked wild boar ragù, but if you’re here for pizza, there’s a decent selection and it’s cooked in a wood-fired oven – try the huge, doughy house special. After that, go for zingy New York cheesecake with passion fruit or the ultra-rich dolce pizza – although, at £16 a go, you might consider sharing this. A couple of frothy Espresso Martinis provide the perfect ending.

Incredible value, delicious food & lovely vibe

Editor's pick I had dinner a couple of weeks ago, enjoyed a few starters to share with friends and pasta dishes and pizzas that we all tried and shared. It is superb! The service was impeccable, very friendly and funny staff, the place is very clean and warm, we felt treated like kings and queens. The bill was very affordable considering we had so much to eat and a few bottles of wine between us. I still can't believe how great and unpretentious the place is for Mayfair! We initially thought we'd go to...

Chef unable to get food out on time!!

by   silver reviewer (27)

Oct 2015

This is the second time i have been here for lunch, I thought the first time I went and had a bad experience was a one off. But unfortunately i was wrong. We had to wait almost 20 minutes for waitress to take our orders, even after we made it blatantly obvious we wanted to order. Starters came after 20 minutes, we then had to wait nearly 45 minutes for our mains which did not even arrive at the same time. Two of our guests were served first, myself and my friend were served between 5 and 10 minutes...

Huge variety of flavours

Bocconcino is just around the corner from work, so we went there on a team lunch to try it out. The decor is absolutely beautiful inside, with natural colours, and beautiful patterns designed all over the ceiling. The front reception desk were very polite, and the waitress wasn't helpful nor unhelpful. There are many different Italian dishes to select from, making it very hard to choose what to have as everything sounded so good. The food came out in good time. I had the Gorgonzola and pear...

The Lifestyle Diaries :: The Lifestyle Diaries: Blogging Ladies' Dinner at Boccocino

While blogging events are great fun, I really enjoy catching up with blogging friends in quieter surroundings and with less of us. So when Andrea invited Angie, Catherine and I to Bocconcino in Mayfair for a weeknight treat I jumped at the chance!

These ladies are some of the closest friends I've made through my little blog and I always love hearing what they're up to, from Catherine's trip to Poland, Angie's holiday of a life time in St Lucia and Andrea trying to get the work life balance that I'm going to be searching for next year there was a lot to catch up on!

Andrea's Passions :: Bocconcino: Comforting Italian Food with my ‘Internet Friends’

A short while ago the lovely folk at Bocconcino got in touch and asked if myself and a few other bloggers would like to pop in for a review. Gladly, was obviously my answer.

Thus on a cold, miserable Wednesday evening, I found myself in the good company of some of my aptly coined ‘internet friends’, namely Angie, Lauren and Catherine, in a really rather beautiful & cosy restaurant, versus eating a basic dinner in my pyjamas on the sofa.

We Love Food, It :: Family Sundays at Bocconcino, 19 Berkeley Street, Mayfair, London W1J 8ED | We Love Food, It's All We Eat

As we walked through the doors of Mayfair’s Bocconcino Charlotte (10) turned to me and mouthed: ‘It’s posh!’ As we took our coats off we admired the sweeping metal spiral staircase from the mezannine entrance level and the glow of the restaurant below. Eight years ago I wouldn’t have dared take my step-children somewhere like this but they know the drill now, it’s like eating out with a couple of (very young) friends who are arguably more grown up than us at times.

We were here to check out ‘Family Sundays’ where the idea is the kids are taken off to the kitchen to make pizza whilst the adults eat their dinner...

Review of Blacklock, Soho :: Bocconcino Restaurant Mayfair Dalton Banks

Bocconcino is a rather chic Italian restaurant in the heart of Mayfair. Located on Berkeley Street, in what looks like a small spot from the outside houses a large, spacious restaurant inside. I have a real love for Italian food and I love this little corner of Mayfair so I was definitely looking forward to see what Bocconcino had to offer.
Obviously I’d had a sneak peek at the menu before arriving and I was very happy to see so many fish options. Having just returned from Barcelona I was already missing all the fish!

Dancing In High Heels :: Dancing In High Heels BOCCONCINO

Located on Berkeley Street, this chic Mayfair Italian restaurant is another (not-so) little gem that I recently had the pleasure of discovering.
Stepping through the main entrance, Bocconcino is actually much larger than it appears to be from the outside. Spread across two floors, there is a livelier dining/bar area downstairs, and the more intimate room at the end of the corridor where we were shown to our table.
They are known to serve both classic and modern Italian cuisine using only the freshest of ingredients, served alongside a wide selection of exclusively Italian wines.
I had a sneaky peak of...
