SquareMeal Review of Bloom

A blooming front terrace emblazoned with herbs & flowers creates a suitably summery mood at this all-day bar, café & kitchen opposite Fulham Palace Garden Centre. By day, Bloom feeds local shoppers & families with breakfasts, artisan pastries & colourful, brunch-style offerings, ranging from hot ricotta cakes with honeycomb butter to sweetcorn fritters with thyme-roasted vine tomatoes & streaky bacon. Lunch & evening specials offer something a tad more ambitious (think seared red mullet with fennel & saffron mayo, creamy butternut squash risotto or grilled rib-eye with coriander mash) & there are interesting sarnies to eat in or take out (duck & rhubarb chutney, say). Refreshing seasonal punches catch the eye on the drinks list, & a deli area selling breads, foodie treats & gifts is in the pipeline.
