SquareMeal Review of
This classy modern-Italian restaurant in the heart of Canary Wharf suits business diners down to the ground with its elegant fine-dining menu, hefty wine list and stylish private rooms – but there’s also plenty of scope for a casual bite with friends or a cheeky cocktail or after-hours Italian craft beer. Japanese chef Kentaro Torii brings his extensive knowledge of Italian cuisine to each and every one of Bella Cosa’s menus – whether it be cocoa-flavoured agnolotti stuffed with meltingly tender oxtail, celeriac and pecorino, or lobster- and crab-flecked squid-ink taglioni topped with umami-rich bottarga shavings from the à la carte; the likes of Italian-style caramelised foie gras terrine, and parmesan ice cream from the seven-course tasting menu; or superior bar snacks such as painstakingly prepared raw seafood. The length and breadth of Italy is represented on the pages of the huge wine list – hire the prestigious Wine Room if you want to get up close and personal with the best of the cellar. Wherever you sit, you’re assured on-point service and a buzzy ambience.
