A walk to this quirky clapboard beach shack on a spectacular stretch of National Trust coastline rewards with fresh-as-can-be seafood catches from a blackboard menu. Old wine boxes create a make-shift bar that separates diners from the kitchen, where low-key dishes are made with real flair and attention to detail. Specials include garlic-and-chilli-spiked seafood linguine, butter-drenched scallops, just-caught sardines on sourdough toast or Italian fish stew. The pièce de résistance however, is a supreme platter that pitches lobster alongside lip-smackingly fresh whole crab, mussels, prawns and clams. Booking is essential for this one.
