This family-owned Caribbean restaurant is a seductive, romantic space decked out with black walls, beaded chandeliers and a shiny black piano in the corner, occasionally occupied by live musicians. Offering a run of classic Jamaican dishes, the restaurant turns out a menu of comfort food, with two courses for £40, and three for £45. Highlights include starters of duck breast pancake rolls and vegetable fritter balls, followed by mains such as curry goat and ackee and saltfish. Sides see fried plantain and mac ‘n’ cheese, while desserts include rum cake served with royal icing and double cream, or homemade banana and custard cake topped with warm custard. Drinks wise, you can expect an international wine list and cocktails such as a Lychee and Lemongrass Martini, and a Mango Pina Colada.
