SquareMeal Review of 23 Stoke Newington Road

‘Two cocktail geeks and a craft beer nerd selling world-class drinks in a low-lit decor’ (Twitter) pretty much sums up the appeal of this wee addition to the Dalston scene. The decor in question is currently a very brown mix of wood panels and retro bar gubbins of the type routinely rejected on Bargain Hunt, although a major refurb is in the offing. Judging by the astute cocktail offer chalked up on a board and changed daily, we imagine the result will be as pleasing to the eye as airmail, aviation, penicillin and clover club are to the classically inclined palate. With craft beers in the pipeline and late weekend opening hours to accommodate the buzzy neighbourhood’s perma-party set, Dalston just got itself another keeper to go with Ruby's across the street.
