Turning a business lunch into pure pleasure

by Marlen G.   (3)

Nov 2013

Great to be in one of my favourite parts of London, Exmouth Market, the sun was shinning too! Had not eaten here for some time but the food was still superb, then there was the bread… apart from Hambelton Bakery (Rutland), this bread is very special. Slightly sour – the way bread should be. Looking foreword to our next visit.

Discovering Greece on a dish with a distinct difference and in Notting Hill

by Marlen G.   (3)

Nov 2013

The jars were like treasure troves for taste buds, a must have is the Oak Smoked Potato salad with quail egg. There were a few of us so did not taste the egg but the potatoes were to live for! Then I was seduced by the Feta Tempura with lemon marmalade and caper meringue and well satisfied with the Black Truffle chicken Hunkar Begendi. Too full to try dessert but then that's the perfect excuse to go back and eat less to make room for all those tempting sweeter dishes. We drank divine Greek white wine, sadly forgot to write down the name but yet another excuse to return.

Forever friends

by Marlen G.   (3)

Nov 2013

You read about restaurants, you try them out but this was an experience that started with making new friends – a whole bunch of Greek chefs… they all had their strong points and their charms, the food was pretty tasty, the wine – yes the best and there was much laughter too. I just cannot wait for the deli to be on line, great way to sort out birthday gifts and my own need for genuine Greek products that taste divine! Thank you George for making London your new home. Just wish I lived locally so that I would not need an excuse to drop in for coffee and ‘pie’, heavenly breakfast – Greek style!
