Conveniently located within The Hotel Indigo Kensington, just a short walk from Earl’s Court underground station, the private dining room in Theo’s Simple Italian is a desirable location for hosting an event – be it for a low-key dinner with colleagues or a celebratory drinks party with friends. The informal dining room can accommodate 6-18 seated guests or up to 40 people standing. The wood-panelled walls and flooring create a warm, inviting environment and the simple yet stylish furnishings make this a versatile venue for any event.
The all-day restaurant is renowned for showcasing chef Theo Randall’s rustic Italian cuisine, inspired by travels through Italy with his parents as a child. For parties of six people or less the à la carte menu remains an option, whilst larger parties are invited to choose two or three courses from the set menu or one of the temporary seasonal menus. To start, guests can look forward to classic Mediterranean flavour combinations like fresh Burrata with ox tomatoes, datterini tomatoes, black olives, basil and olive oil; or a salad of cured beef with figs, rocket and shaved parmesan. Mains include Theo’s signature Pappardelle al ragu – homemade wide ribbon pasta with slow-cooked beef in red wine and san marzano sauce; and pan-roasted salmon served with capers, parsley, tomatoes, olives and marinated grilled vegetables. Finally guests are sure to be delighted with the selection of classic Italian desserts on offer; Amalfi lemon tart, affogato or a rich flourless chocolate cake with mascarpone cheese.
As expected the cocktail list comprises a selection of Italian classics including a Campari spritz, classic negroni and Amalfi martini. For non-drinkers two delicious Seedlip mocktails make great non-alcoholic alternatives. An affordable wine list offers a good selection of Italian labels categorised by their profiles to make choosing less of an onerous task for uncertified oenophiles.
If this all sounds fabulous but too small for your numbers then there may also be the possibility to hire the entire restaurant with facility to seat up to 54 people and standing space for up to 80. Requests will be granted based on dates and times, and naturally peak periods will equate to higher costs.
