The great Scottish food and award-winning burgers served at Mac & Wild is so good it can be enough to transport you to the Highlands. And that's before you’ve tried eating in the private dining room at the group’s Devonshire Square outlet. The interiors will send you straight to a highland shooting lodge, complete with robust wooden furniture and antlers.
The restaurant specialises in an all-Scottish offering, particularly beef, venison and other wild game. Scottish seafood also makes an appearance, but it’s the quirky dishes of haggis pops, truffle mac and cheese, and venison Scotch eggs that have made headlines. What’s more, the Venimoo burger (beef patty, venison patty, cheese, béarnaise sauce and caramelised onions), has been awarded London’s best burger twice (once in 2016 and again in 2018).
Set menus are available, but we would urge you to try one of the delicious butcher’s cuts, sourced from traceable producers and prepared by in-house butchers. From the seafood section, expect lobster, monkfish and mussels.
The drinks offering is also excellent, with an impressive cocktail list that showcases superb Scottish whiskys, alongside a wide selection of whisky flights. Scottish beers and a great wine list helps cater for every need.
It’s worth noting that minimum spends apply, depending on the size of your party, but there is no hire fee. You can also incorporate an experience in the virtual shooting range next door, where groups of up to 60 can use replica rifles to shoot wild boar, bears and an array of birds on the virtual screen.
