One of the only London restaurants to specialise in authentic Burmese private dining, Laphet has garnered critical acclaim, with the group’s West End location opening its doors back in 2022. Founders Dan and head chef Zaw are both of Burmese heritage themselves and lead a team and kitchen full of passion, seeking to deliver traditional dishes with a Laphet twist to customers. For those looking to celebrate a special occasion, Laphet West End offers fantastic areas for group dining. Plus, being in the heart of London’s West End, your guests will have no problem reaching you by public transport.
The warmly lit restaurant has a cosy but luxurious vibe, with an inviting first floor space with its own adjoining terrace that overlooks St Martin’s Courtyard. The feasting menu is a great option for group dining with more than nine guests. You’ll enjoy mixed fritters with tamarind sauce, a tea leaf salad, ginger salad and yellow pea paratha, shan rice with sea bass and grilled aubergine.
Main courses for group dining at Lahpet West End include braised mutton curry, fried bream with a tomato, shallot and garlic soy glaze, and crushed double fried beans and peanuts. There’s also a king prawn curry, lentil chow chow, and coconut chicken and bottle gourd curry. Your mains are served with coconut and plain rices and pickles. For something sweet, you'll be able to add on a dessert platter featuring the likes of black sticky rice and jaggery pudding, along with assorted sorbets and ice creams.
From the impressive cocktail list, enjoy the Thai Basil and Kaffir Lime Sour with gin, elderflower and cucumber, or the Jewel of Mogok made with spiced rum, coconut tequila, simple syrup, passion fruit and lime.
