Hovarda serves Aegan-inspired cuisine in one of London’s busiest and buzzing districts, Soho, where it takes inspiration from Greek and Turkish cooking to create its signature dishes and drinks. If you’re looking to host a private event in Soho, whether that’s an elegant sit-down dinner or a glamorous drinks reception, Hovarda can cater for a range of exclusive events in either its main dining room or lounge.
The restaurant can be hired for groups of up to 78 and provides a sultry and luxurious, yet warm and friendly, setting to feast on a menu of Aegan-inspired dishes. Low-level lighting casts a warm glow over the space, blue tiles on the walls depict scenes from the (Aegan) sea while wooden furnishings and tassle lampshades inject the space with warmth and rusticity. Here, guests can feast on Hovarda’s unique sharing dishes, from mezze to grills to salads and dips. Look out for things like stuffed florina peppers with aubergine, pomegranate balsamic and black garlic, octopus stifado with shallots, apple, raisins, red wine sauce and pita, and pastichio (baked pasta) with king oyster mushrooms and cheese sauce.
The lounge, meanwhile, can be booked for up to 52 guests for a slightly cosier secluded space. Plush velvet chairs provide comfortable seating for socialising over drinks with friends, while the room is punctuated with tones of teal and gold to bring a sumptuous, almost regal feel to the space. If you are looking to keep the focus on the drinks, then the team at Hovarda are happy to advise on wine and cocktails. Signature serves are divided into ‘light and refreshing’, ‘sweet and sour’ and ‘strong’ concoctions, but classic cocktails are also available if you’re a stickler for tradition. Hovarda also offers an in-house sommelier to advise on the best wines, which includes a concise but expertly-picked selection.
