Little known but unexpectedly excellent, just as its name suggests, Darkhorse is a neighbourhood gem that’s well-loved by those who have discovered it. Tucked away in the now peaceful surrounds of the former Olympic Village, Darkhorse boasts an experienced team and an eye-catching menu that’s decided by the seasons. Almost 100% of produce is sourced from the UK or Western Europe so diners can bet on fresh, seasonal flavours in every single modern European dish on the menu.
Darkhorse Restaurant lives up to its name once again when it comes to private dining, as the restaurant can actually be hired in its entirety for private dining and events. There’s ample space in the open-plan dining room for private lunches or dinners, cocktail receptions and parties, so whether it’s a seated or a standing event you’re planning, the friendly staff here will ensure the layout is perfect.
The restaurant can accommodate up to 60 people for seated meals, or up to 120 guests for standing drinks and canape receptions. The venue can be booked within or outside the restaurant’s usual opening hours, and is also available for photo and film production shoots. The glass frontage ensures plenty of natural light during the daytime, and a cosy atmosphere as night falls, so whether it’s a celebratory lunch or an evening party, you’re guaranteed tranquil surroundings.
Then there’s the food and beverages. Event bookers have the option of choosing from Darkhorse Restaurant’s Italian style sharing menu, the set menu or from the seasonal à la carte menu. Staff can advise on what might suit best, depending on the type of event. Then, once your food menu is finalised, you’ll be sent the restaurant’s current wine and cocktail lists to choose from which, again, staff can advise on based on your menu and budget. All that’s left after that is to have a wonderful time.
