A seat on the bus during the morning commute, school playgrounds that are eerily empty at break time…London is way quieter when the capital’s kids are on their summer hols. Venture out in the middle of the day however and it’s a different story, as harassed-looking parents drag their hot-and-bothered offspring from London Zoo to Hamley’s then a matinée of Matilda: hungry work, to be sure.
