The London Beer Factory has launched The Barrel Project in a Bermondsey arch. The space has been taken over to age beers in reconditioned Bordeaux wine barrels, but will also be available for private hire seven days a week.
Inside, the vaulted arch will be decked out with warm lighting and can host receptions of up to 150 from 10am to 11pm. Of course, the barrel-lined walls are a statement feature of the pared-back, industrial design.
A 10-tap bar is the source of drinks for the night, and a late licence can be obtained for exclusive parties. Beers are on rotation, but we like the sound of the American-style Paxton IPA with big hop flavours that’s on offer at the moment.
As for food, the venue has a list of recommended suppliers, but bookers are also welcome to bring in their own preferred caterers.
