SquareMeal review of
Amaluna at Royal Albert Hall
Following the sell-out success of Kooza, Cirque du Soleil will be back at the Royal Albert Hall in 2016 with a brand new production, Amaluna. Written and directed by Tony Award-winning director Diane Paulus, the show is a ‘celebration of love and a tribute to the work and voice of women.’ As we’ve come to expect from the extraordinary circus troupe, the performance will be full of thrilling choreography, colourful contortionists and fearless acrobats. Next year is the 20th anniversary of the group appearing at the Royal Albert Hall and to celebrate the entire gallery that surrounds the auditorium will be converted into a Cirque-themed world, offering the company’s flagship hospitality product VIP Rouge. The views of the stage, alone, make the £210pp +VAT starting price well-worth it. Arrival drinks, hot food and popcorn will all be served before the show, while dessert will be dished out during the interval. VIP Box Experience packages are also available for groups of between four and 12 guests. The package includes a private box, early VIP access, champagne, beers and soft drinks, pre-show canapés and interval food, and a private box waiter. Prices start at £285pp +VAT. Add on a behind the scenes tour with a meet-and-greet with performers and that will cost £475pp +VAT all in.
Jumeirah Carlton Tower is celebrating the company’s 20th year at the Royal Albert Hall with January and February packages. Prices start at £795 and include dinner, two VIP stall tickets to Amaluna and an overnight stay.
