  1. Afternoon tea is one of those things that I will never tire of, regardless of how many I have had, my interest in them and desire to try new ones never dwindles. Some of that is due to London having an amazing array of afternoon tea offerings, but also that each one experienced has been a very different affair.

For my birthday I was lucky to be whisked away for a wonderful weekend stay at Coworth Park, a luxury country hotel and spa in Ascot. The hotel is part of the Dorchester collection and is set in 240 acres of beautiful parkland...

  1. One hidden gem that I love on Regent Street is Momo's restaurant.

Started by the talented Mouraf Mazouz of Sketch, Momo's Restaurant offers Moroccan food at its very best.

Entering the restaurant reminds me of wonderful holidays we have had in Marrakesh. Just look at the beautiful interior...

Trader Vic's London | Foodie Force: Independence Day

With the really hot weather in London this week, memories come flooding back of tropical paradises that I’ve visited, one of my favourites is the beautiful Hawaiian island of Maui. So when invited to come along to Hilton's wonderful restaurant Trader Vic’s on Park Lane to sample a special Independence Day inspired menu I was off before you could say ‘Aloha’.

You might think it strange for a true Brit to want to celebrate the 4th July, but we too can celebrate the event in which we finally had independence from the Americans. Joking aside, with wonderful food and a sound knowledge of making great Mai Tai cocktails, Trader Vic’s is a wonderful place to have a little fun...

Café Rouge - Kingsway | Foodie Force: Bloggers to watch

The evening was being hosted at Café Rouge in Holborn, who were launching a new food and cocktail menu.

Now don't laugh as the new menu was quite ironical given the temperature, we were trying out their new sharing plates for Christmas! Yes you heard me right Christmas (in July!).

I'm pleased to share that there was no turkey, brussel sprouts or all the trimmings in sight; instead delicious sharing platters...

  1. Afternoon tea is my guilty pleasure, but when you add 24-karat gold into the mix it certainly becomes a more opulent indulgence.

So when I heard that St James Court Hotel London had broken with tradition and created a decadent afternoon tea, inspired by Luxor Pure Gold 24K Brut Champagne I couldn't wait to give it a try.

The hotel grounds are a beautiful oasis of calm from the hustle and bustle of London...

  1. The event was at Evoluzione, the beautiful airy restaurant in South Kensington's boutique Hotel Xenia, a 99 roomed boutique hotel in Kensington that opened last year. Now can we all marvel at how beautiful this hotel is..

The event was to preview and celebrate the launch of a new series of six 'Guest Chef Events', in which every six weeks guests will be able to share the tastes, traditions and talents from across Italy (North-South)...

  1. I love London but sometimes we all need to get away from it all and have a little bit of peace and relaxation time.

On Valentines Day I decided my other half needed a treat and what better way to spoil him than a luxury weekend break at Stoke Park Hotel and Spa in Buckinghamshire.

Driving through the gates of Stoke Park which is set in 300 acres of beautiful lakes and gardens, the grounds make quite the first impression...

Mamounia Lounge | Foodie Force: Mamounia Lounge Mayfair

One of the challenges of eating in London is that with so many restaurants sometimes finding an authentic one that serves traditional food can be difficult.

Mamounia Lounge in Mayfair offers guests an Arabic experience featuring the very best of Lebanese and Moroccan cuisines. But what I was more interested to find out was how authentic the experience would be, you see I have had some wonderful holidays in Arabia and Morocco. I hoped that Mamounia would be able to transport me back there to an electric vibe and superb food...

Restaurant Coworth Park | Foodie Force: Coworth Park Hotel

Entering the driveway to Coworth Park you really do feel like you are leaving the city behind. The 240 acre parkland is beautifully tranquil and the grounds are stunning.

We spent many happy hours over the long weekend walking in the grounds.

Coworth Park Hotel is part of the Dorchester collection but has more of a country house feel inside compared to their other hotels in the UK collection...

    Joanna's | Foodie Force: Joanna's Restaurant

Joanna's restaurant on Crystal Palace high street has been a FoodieForce family favourite for years. My parents used to take me there as a child and it holds some wonderful memories for me.

The restaurant was set up in 1978 by the Ellner family and has been a neighbourhood favourite ever since. There lovely son William runs the restaurant now.

The restaurant can best be described as modern British cuisine. Once through the front door you are taken into a friendly bar where people come to relax after a hard day’s work with a wonderful cocktail. The restaurant has dark wooden panelling and beautiful art work that adorns the walls..

  1. "Eat Me" and "Drink Me" two of my favourite phrases, but they also appear in the much loved book "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll. This year the book celebrates its 150th anniversary and as it was one of my most loved books as a child anything Alice inspired gets my vote.

The Hyatt Regency London is celebrating the special occasion with the creation of their very own Mad Hatter's Afternoon tea...

  1. You see the Ampersand Hotel has been on my list to visit for a while, why because Chris Golding their head chef is always tempting me on Twitter with wonderful foodie creations.

Two minutes from South Kensington station the Ampersand Hotel and The Drawing Rooms have been beautifully designed.

I loved the fabrics, colours, and overall design of this lovely place and could have happily had this as my own living room...

  1. The restaurant itself is a short distance from St.Paul's and Smithfield Market. Close to London Wall in London's financial district, tucked away down a side street between Moorgate and Liverpool street stations is Off The Wall Bar and Restaurant.

This was the venue for our lunch date. Off the Wall Restaurant is situated in the four star Apex Hotel offering a modern European menu.

The restaurant is cleverly named after London Wall which was built by the Romans some think to defend the City. It is now the name of a section of road in London that runs part of the course of where the wall once stood...

    Fifteen | Jamie Oliver's Fifteen

This week has been a busy one, so I was excited on Tuesday to go along to Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant for dinner. Nothing relaxes me more than food.

Fifteen was set up in 2002 as a social enterprise that uses the wonder and magic of food to help unemployed people find their start in life, with the ultimate hope of a better future. They are part of Fifteen's apprenticeship programme...

Pizza East Shoreditch | Foodie Force: Pizza East Shoreditch

Pizza East is housed in a huge old tea warehouse that has rustic charm. The place is always a hive of activity and always busy so make sure you book ahead for a visit.

They also have a casual drinking space perfect for pre-dinner drinks or catching up with friends over a nice cold pint...

  1. As a foodie there is one thing that I constantly struggle with, balancing my love of food and an ever expanding waistline. Unless you can balance your love of food with equal measures of exercise then as a foodie you are in a constant battle.

As you know I love afternoon teas but it is a calorific indulgence that I cannot do too often, that was until the Intercontinental Hotel, created a foodies perfect afternoon tea. Why I hear you ask? Well they have created a guiltless afternoon tea £40, free of refined sugar and carefully crafted with natural nutrients. For the gluten intolerant amongst us it is also totally gluten free...

Trader Vic's London | Foodie Force: Trader Vic's Hilton Hotel

On Tuesday we celebrated a milestone, with one year of blogging, hooray! In the evening the celebrations continued visiting Trader Vic's a French-Polynesian restaurant located on London's Park Lane.

This year is the 80th anniversary of Trader Vic's and the 70th anniversary of the Mai Tai, the cocktail synonymous with Trader Vic's around the world. So it was the perfect place to have a celebration...
