‘Vine and dine’ at Denbies Wine Estate

With its 265 acres of vines, Denbies Wine Estate, in Surrey, is the largest single-estate vineyard in the UK. Harvest is the most significant time of year for the winery, when the crushing of grapes produces more than 300,000 litres of grape juice, which is then turned into wine. For the fifth year running, the estate is opening its doors to the public to show them how its wines are produced.

Visitors learn how to pick and harvest grapes, watch the picked grapes being pressed, and taste the ‘must’ (grape juice). The day concludes with wine tasting in the cellars, and all participants receive an estate-grown vine to take away.

Tickets for the Vine and Dine experience are available from Monday to Saturday throughout October and cost £49.50. Lunch is included.
