Tuck into a bloody Mary breakfast


The perfect bloody Mary is a hotly debated topic – so much so that Drake & Morgan pubs (including The Refinery, The Parlour, The Anthologist (pictured), The Folly and The Drift) are serving a bloody Mary breakfast menu that celebrates variations to suit every taste.

Purists can choose the classic ‘Bloody Decisive’ blend, though there are plenty of enticing alternatives, from the Bloody Ceasar (made with ‘clamato’ juice – clam-and-tomato juice – and served with a king prawn garnish and celery-salt rim) to the Celery Mary – a bloodless variation made with Ketel One vodka, tomato water, celery juice and strawberry-balsamic vinegar seasoned with salt, pepper and Tabasco.

For gin lovers, there’s the Crystal Mary Martini, which comes garnished with a dried tomato chip. Alternatively, try the Kimchi Mary – a potable interpretation of the Korean side dish made with saké, tomato juice, rice-wine vinegar and wasabi and garnished with pickled ginger.

All the Bloody Marys on the breakfast menu cost £7.50.
