For one day only, The Wine Sessions is bringing together the premier cru of London’s oenophiles, from critics and bloggers to sommeliers and bar owners. Run in association with TOAST, it’s a chance to celebrate London’s vibrant wine scene, and in particular its new wave of young, hip and unpretentious wine spots. Not that the Old World
isn’t welcome too, of course. Hosted at the Crypt on the Green in Clerkenwell, highlights include three wine bars from Sager & Wilde, Tutto and Passione Vino; a bookshop run by Shoreditch gallery Material; and food from Highbury Italian Trullo and chef James Lowe. That’s on top of six expert-led sessions, from ‘Wine Basics’ with former Waitrose wine buyer Joe
Wadsack to ‘Around The World In Seven Tastes’ with Master of Wine Jancis Robinson and a look at the ‘Famous Five’ of wines with Tom Harrow, aka Wine Chap. Sessions run for 1-2 hours and are priced
at £15-£30 each, with an all-day ticket available for £75. For each purchase, a donation is made to the water charity 2water.org, which provides clean drinking water to communities in the
developing world. Entry to the bar and bookstore is free. For more details follow London Wine Sessions on Twitter.
