This year, the Taste of Barbados, one of the most glamorous events in this Caribbean hotspot’s annual calendar, takes place between 3-11 October, showcasing the island’s very best food and drink.
Set against the backdrop of historic attractions, exclusive venues and popular street locations, the festival aims to promote the quality and diversity of food, restaurants and bars all over the
island. Visitors can savour both traditional and international cuisine, join a Barbados Sugar Tour or become rum aficionados.
Highlights of the festival include the Gourmet Taste event taking place in the magnificent setting of Holders House on Thursday 9 October. Featuring signature dishes from some of Barbados’s most
celebrated restaurants along with specially selected wines and spirits, visitors can pick up tips from the pros, watch as top chefs create a feast of dishes and of course sample the delicious
Bajan cuisine is a spicy combination of African, Asian and European influences. National dishes include cou-cou (a cornmeal and okra dish), flying fish and pepperpot (a spicy stew). There’s a wide
range of dining options, from local to international and from beachfront cafe to five-star restaurant.
