The Alsace boasts some great wines made by some iconic winemakers – and none are more deeply embedded in the terroir than the Hugel family, who have been making wine in Alsace for 13 generations. This April, Bleeding Heart will welcome back the third generation of the Hugel family to host a tasting dinner in its atmospheric Crypt.
Prepare yourselves for some delicious wine and food pairings – from Hugel’s signature wine, the 2014 Riesling ‘Classic’ in magnum, paired with a dish of crayfish and zander fillet with white asparagus, sautéed spinach and cream sauce, to the spectacular 2009 vintage of the Pinot Noir ‘Jubilee’, paired with confit duck pithivier, spring cabbage, Alsace bacon and prune red wine sauce. In total, diners will tuck into five courses and six wines, all steeped in the tradition of the region.
The Alsace Magnum Club dinner will take place on 26 April. The event costs £92.50, including all food and wines. To book, email firstname.lastname@example.org
