This summer, the terrace at Fifth Floor Harvey Nichols will play host to a series of pop-ups.
The first incumbent will be Chase Distillery, which will man a bar serving vodka cocktails and matching nibbles from the restaurant kitchen.
Guests can enjoy fruity cocktails including gooseflower fizz (vodka, elderflower liqueur, gooseberry jam, lemon and honey, topped with English sparkling wine), marmalade root martini (marmalade
vodka shaken with carrot juice, parsley and lemon, with a dash of honey), and summer fruit cups.
Bar bites to try alongside the cocktails include Waldorf salad, and marmalade-marinated duck breast with crispy shallots, plus desserts such as dark-chocolate-and-marmalade cake and lemon-curd
tart. The dishes can also be ordered as a tasting menu to complement the cocktails.
The terrace will then be taken over by Penhaligon’s, who will turn it into a floral, picturesque summer sanctuary themed on Penhaligon’s latest fragrance, Peoneve.
The Fifth Floor bar team has incorporated the scents of Peoneve into the cocktails on offer. Peony punch (gin mixed with floral-scented tea) will be served in a five-litre perfume bottle to share
between six, while the rose garden blends raspberries, white peach, vodka and pressed apple juice.
The bar-snack menu will be similarly sweet and heady, with sweet treats such as white-chocolate-and-peony mousse, and gooseberry fool with elderflower custard. Alcohol-laced ice lollies will also
be on sale.
The Chase vodka terrace will run from 4 June to 15 July.
The Peoneve summer garden will run from 16 July to 31 August.
