St George’s Day may take pace for one solitary day on 23 April, but that hasn’t stopped restaurants stretching out the celebrations. Throughout the course of that week, sites around town are
running special English menus to help celebrate our national day. Here’s a pick of the bunch:
Richard Corrigan restaurant Bentley’s is hosting a gourmet dinner on 23 April, while Corrigan’s Mayfair will run a
patriotic lunchtime menu throughout the week.
City seafood restaurant Chamberlain’s is running its own special fish and chips (pictured) embossed with a St George’s flag, as well
as a bespoke English menu.
The National Dining Rooms is running an English menu, while Fifth Floor at Harvey Nichols also an exclusively native menu on at lunchtime.
If your name happens to be George or Georgina, then lucky you: St Pancras Grand is offering a free two-course meal –
chosen from a special English menu – to any of our patron saint's namesakes throughout Friday 23 April. Everyone else can choose from the same menu, but priced at £28 for two course and £32 for
three, with a free glass of fizz included.
Finally, if you're feeling extra patriotic, get along to a branch of Fish! (in Borough, East Sheen or Kingston), grab a traditional fish
and chips and sign their petition to turn St George's Day into a national holiday, which they aim to take to 10 Downing Street once it hits 500 signatures.
