Save our Bacon


As part of the Waitrose Save our Bacon campaign, which aims to help British pig farmers get fair prices for their produce, restaurants throughout the UK are showing their support by featuring special British pork dishes on their menus until Sunday 4 May.

So if the idea of our beloved bacon butties being made with non-British pork makes you balk, get behind the cause and visit one of the participating restaurants this week.

Restaurants and dishes include:
Aubergine – stuffed pig's trotter with morels and slow-cooked pork belly
Le Caprice – Blythburgh pork chop with white asparagus and sage butter
Fino – pork chop with cauliflower puree
The Ivy – slow-roasted Blythburgh pork belly with black pudding hash
Pied a Terre – crispy pork belly with sauteed langoustines, sweet garlic puree, wild garlic, pine nuts and rosemary jus
St John – Gloucester Old Spot bacon sandwich
