Booking lines jammed for Thomas Keller’s pop-up version of The French Laundry in London? Wallet can’t stretch to its £250 price tag? Sabrina
Ghayour – aka Sabrina’s Passions, Square Meal’s most prolific reader reviewer – to the rescue. The self-proclaimed ‘greedy
girl-about-town’ is offering an alternative event inspired by Keller’s celebrated Californian restaurant, called The French Launderette Supper Club.
The French Launderette will offer diners four courses that pay homage to Keller’s signature dishes for just £2.50 per head – a fraction of the bill at Keller’s pop-up. Friends and well-placed
wellwishers are donating ingredients to the project, and the event will take place in The Chancery London, which was offered to Sabrina for the night by restaurateur Zak Jones. Donations above the
£2.50 ticket price are welcome and will go directly to Action Against Hunger, a humanitarian organisation helping malnourished children all over the world.
The French Launderette Supper Club will operate only on Sunday 2 October – the day after it’s step-sibling opens its doors. Some tickets to the event have already been sold and the remaining 40
will go on sale on 1 September at 10am – the same time as lines for Keller’s event open.
To reserve a place at The French Launderette, call 020 7854 9369 from 10am on 1 September. Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
