We try (yet often fail) to visit a tapas bar without ordering croquetas. Despite wanting to save stomach space for the more adventurous things on the menu, a portion of these addictive little balls always goes down a treat.
So it’s with great joy that we bring you news of Ember Yard’s first (but surely not last) Croquetas Challenge. Contestants competing in the cook-off include croquetas heavyweights such as José Pizarro, Aqua Nueva, Social Wine & Tapas, Copita and Barrica - in total, more than a dozen restaurants are taking up the challenge, and presenting their best balls to a judging panel of food writers and critics. Recipes will vary from traditional fillings such as jamón to more avant-garde croqueta celebrations such as oxtail, apricot and peanut, or honey and rosemary. Salivating? Here’s the best news: you can join in the tasting.
The #CroquetasChallenge takes place on Tuesday 6 September at Ember Yard, and tickets cost £15. Ticket holders will get to enjoy a welcome drink before tasting each croqueta entry. To book a ticket, call 020 7439 8057 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
