Party like it’s 1899 with Belle Epoque

On Saturday 12 May, the Belle Epoque party is bringing acrobats, trapeze artists, musicians, corseted courtesans and disguised dancers to Shoreditch’s Village Underground.

The three-floor venue will be transformed into a lavish music hall decadently decked out in gilded wood and crimson velvet. Guests can indulge in cocktails from the bar or absinthe straight from a fountain, and enjoy an eclectic mix of music from live bands and DJs – from sultry French chanson to big-band hits and classic rock.

The evening’s dress code is strictly imaginative: more is more in this case. Ladies should channel Marie Antoinette, while gentlemen should aim for a devilishly dashing disguise (think twirling moustaches and swirling cloaks).

The event runs from 8pm-2am (aerial acrobatics start at 9pm). Tickets cost £20; to book, visit belleepoqueparty.com or call 020 7724 1617.
