On Sunday 6 May, Marcus Wareing will host a three-hour event at The Gilbert Scott, the stunning restaurant at St Pancras Renaissance London hotel, featuring exquisite cocktails and intriguing taste
The event will kick off with summery Grey Goose Le Fizz cocktails (a blend of Grey Goose vodka, elderflower cordial, lime juice and soda water), plus canapés from The Gilbert Scott’s kitchen.
Wareing will unveil a bespoke cocktail he has developed with Grey Goose for the event, which guests can enjoy as they listen to an introduction to taste by the acclaimed chef. Grey Goose’s taste
expert, drinks consultant Joe McCanta (brand ambassador for the vodka), will then give guests a potted history of influential arbiters of taste, with fascinating anecdotes, many from Wareing
The Grey Goose team and The Gilbert Scott’s bar team will conduct a series of tantalising taste experiments to demonstrate the effects of biology and psychology on the senses. Guests will taste a
series of ingredients while isolating the other senses in order to acquire an insight into their personal preferences.
Once guests have learned more about the way we taste, they will have the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice by creating bespoke cocktails during a masterclass and undergoing a
personalised consultation to determine their taste profile.
Complete the experience by finishing the afternoon with an optional extra – a three-course roast at The Gilbert Scott. The event takes place from 3-6pm and costs £75, with 25% of the ticket price
donated to the Elton John Aids Foundation. The three-course roast costs an additional £25 per person (excluding drinks and service).
