The culinary high-point of Hong Kong’s Food and Wine Year 2009 is fast approaching. Taking place from 30 October to 1 November 2009 on West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, Hong Kong’s Wine and Dine
Festival is a celebration of food and drink in one of Asia’s pre-eminent culinary destinations, and will showcase wines from Chinese and international wineries paired with food from local
restaurants. In addition to this, wine appreciation classes and wine tours in various destinations across the city, as well as the International Wine and Spirits Fair 2009, will take place during
the following week, climaxing with street carnivals planned to take place from 6 to 8 November.
Following on from the publication of the first Michelin Guide to Hong Kong last year, and its awarding of 40 stars across 28 restaurants, the city launched Hong Kong’s Food and Wine Year in April
2009 with the aim of promoting the diversity and quality of Hong Kong restaurants.
