Sicilian restaurant Caponata is pairing up with its sibling venue The Forge to create a gourmet botanical garden on Wednesday 7 September.
Caponata is linked to The Forge, a live-music venue via a covered glass courtyard. The two venues will merge for the event, to bring together their food and music offerings.
A ‘potting shed bar’ will serve cocktails made with fresh herbs and fruit-infused alcohol, and gourmet bar snacks such as ‘edible cobwebs’ will also be available. The bar’s signature mix, made from
gin, raspberries, lemon juice and Chambord, will be served in a watering can.
In the venue’s ‘vertical’ garden, a weatherproof British picnic will be laid out, with jugs of traditional homemade lemonade and Pimm’s, and tartan rugs.
Meanwhile, in The Forge’s ‘Sicilian secret garden’, Caponata’s head chef Vito Fanara will serve up dishes from the restaurant menu, which guests can enjoy as they listen to live jazz. The garden
will also house a grappa bar.
The event will run from 9am-4pm on Wednesday 7 September. Live jazz will be played from 12-2pm.
