Cook For Syria is the new fundraising initiative from Insta-famed Clerkenwell Boy, all in aid of UNICEF’s Children of Syria Fund. In collaboration with Suitcase Magazine and NextGen London, the campaign is raising money for Syria. Throughout November, UK restaurants will be putting a Syrian-inspired twist on a signature dish (using ingredients such as the above), then donating £2 from each sale. Restaurants that have already announced their involvement include Arabica Bar & Kitchen, Barrafina, Gunpowder, Ottolenghi, Patty & Bun and Pizza Pilgrims.
To kick off a month of campaigning, there will be a special charity dinner on Monday 31 October, cooked up by stellar chefs including Angela Hartnett (Murano), José Pizarro (Pizarro), Nuno Mendes (Chiltern Firehouse) and Sami Tamimi and Yotam Ottolenghi (Ottolenghi). The dinner takes place at art space 180 The Strand.
