On Thursday 13 October, join a select group of wine enthusiasts for a five-course dinner at Quaglino’s, with matching wines from Hungarian producer Disznóko, one of the country’s largest wineries.
The evening will kick off with canapés and a pre-dinner tasting of a number of wines, led by Disznóko’s own Laszlo Meszaros, who is flying in from Budapest for the occasion. This will include a
tasting of classic Aszú (sweet) wines, as well as a preview of some of the prize-winning wines from Tokaji – one of the most celebrated regions in the world for sweet wines – that will then be
matched with the meal.
The five-course menu has been devised by Quaglino’s executive head chef Darron Bunn and will include dishes featuring seasonal ingredients with a twist. Dishes on the menu include: halibut with
crab on toast in a crab-and-tomato bisque (which will be paired with Disznóko’s 2002 Aszú 5 Puttonyos); roast guineafowl with guineafowl rillettes and soldiers and a guineafowl Scotch egg (paired
with the 2005 6 Puttonyos) and a ‘signature’ dessert that will match the 2000 ‘Millennium’ wine.
The event will take place in the restaurant’s Prince of Wales private room from 7pm (for 8pm). Tickets, including all wines, cost £75. To book a place, please call Quaglino’s on 020 7484 2005 or
email firstname.lastname@example.org (please mention the ‘Square Meal Disznóko Dinner’ when booking).
