Portuguese wines are known for their easygoing qualities and ability to complement food to a tee. Most people are familiar with port – the country’s most famous ambassador – but other wine
varieties are just as worthy of attention: from summery, crisp vinho verde, the perfect match for light fish or chicken dishes, to robust reds from regions like Dão or the Douro, which go down a
treat with steaks and slow-cooked stews.
Wines of Portugal have teamed up with D&D restaurants to offer diners the chance to sample some of the country’s best-loved bottles. Enjoy a two- or three-course meal with a glass of vinho
verde, or Nova Safra, a classic fruity red from Pinhal da Torre, for just £15 (for two courses) or £20 (for three courses).
