For one night only, as part of London's Taste Portugal event this month, Algarve-based chef Matteo Ferrantino will take over the kitchens at exclusive Mayfair wine bar 28°-50°, cooking a four-course feast, with matching Portuguese wines chosen by Portugal’s Sommelier of the Year, Antonio Lopes.
Ferrantino has taken the cuisine of Portugal to his heart since he began heading up the team at top restaurant Vila Joya, in the Algarve, seven years ago. His one-off menu will feature fresh ingredients, strong flavours and beautiful presentation, with dishes fusing traditional dishes with modern cooking styles, such as a main course of black-cod caldeirada (paired with a 2013 Gilda by Tiago Teles.
