Dance with the green fairy at Brompton Bar & Grill

French brasserie Brompton Bar and Grill is bringing the bohemian Parisian scene – characterised by notorious 19th-century Left-Bankers Oscar Wilde, Vincent van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec – back to life with a stylish absinthe bar.

The bar will be serving classic blends such as Champagne-and-absinthe concoction death in the afternoon – Hemingway’s favourite tipple – and morning-glory fizz, a mixture of whisky, absinthe, egg white, bitters and soda originally considered to be a breakfast drink. Modern twists on traditional absinthe cocktails will also be on offer, including absinthe caipirinha and absinthe daiquiri.

More experienced ‘absintheurs’ can also enjoy their absinthe served traditionally with iced water: the water is added to the absinthe drop by drop to create an opalescent ‘louche’ effect.
