This year, Londoners can enjoy not one, not two, but three weekends dedicated to Latin American street food, thanks to Comida Fest – a festival of food and drink inspired by countries from all over South America, amped up with Latin American music, games and workshops.
Stroll along the Riverside Walkway by Gabriel's Wharf and pick and mix from the street-food traders and restaurant pop-ups serving their specialities – perhaps a Cuban sandwich from Jama Cubana, some Latin-style barbecue dishes courtesy of London Locomotive Smoke, or a Brazilian snack and a caipirinha from Agua na Boca, or signature dishes from Covent Garden’s Café Pacifico to Islington’s Tierra Peru. Then chill out as the DJs mix a blend of Latin beats to accompany the entertainment.
Comida Fest will take place on 21-22 May and 18-19 June. The first event will coincide with International Malbec Day, so expect free-flowing red wine and plenty of top-notch steaks.
