On Thursday 29 September, The Capital restaurant will host a five-course Champagne dinner, as part of the ongoing celebrations of its 40th anniversary year.
Head chef Jérôme Ponchelle has devised the birthday menu, which includes dishes such as Scottish scallops with black pudding, celeriac purée, frisée and bacon chips, beef ‘Rossini’ with pommes
soufflées, spinach, wild mushroom and artichoke, and desserts such as blackberry-and-apple tart with warm blackberry compote. Each course will be matched to a different Bollinger Champagne,
including 2002 Bollinger La Grande Année, 2002 Bollinger La Côte aux Enfants, and Bollinger Rosé NV.
The event will be hosted by an ambassador from the Bollinger Champagne house in one of the restaurant’s private rooms.
