This year has been Charles Dickens’ year, with Britain’s literati celebrating the 200th anniversary of the author’s birth. And December is the perfect time of year to get involved in the
celebrations of the man behind A Christmas Carol.
Get into the festive spirit by enjoying a wine tasting and dinner in the City, interspersed with readings from A Christmas Carol. Both the wine tasting and dinner will take place in The Crypt – an atmospheric venue next door to Bleeding Heart restaurant.
During the meal, diners can sit back and enjoy dramatic readings from A Christmas Carol, which will be read by Adam Long, founding member of the Reduced Shakespeare Company and creator of
Dickens Unplugged, a theatre company that performs condensed, comical musical versions of Dickens classics.
The Dickens extravaganza takes place on Friday 21 December. The wine tasting kicks off at 6.30pm; dinner is served at 8pm; the dress code is Dickensian black tie.
Proceeds from the whole event will go towards the fundraising initiative for Park Theatre, a community theatre being built in north London.
Tickets to the event cost £75; to book a place, email email@example.com.
