Come and join us at the second in a small series of California Wine events that Square Meal is co-hosting, taking place on Wednesday 15 May at Automat in Mayfair. This informal, stand-up, tutored tasting will demonstrate just how brilliantly food-friendly Californian
wines can be.
This classy American brasserie will be dishing up some really tasty, flavour-packed Californian tapas, from crab cakes with guacamole, and ceviche of scallop with lime and ginger, to decadent
goats-cheese mousse with truffle, tuna tartare with avocado and tomato, a lobster ‘cappuccino’, and other delicious morsels.
Each dish will be matched with one of an exciting range of wines from the region, including cool-climate Chardonnay, Burgundian-style Pinot Noir; compelling Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley,
brooding fruit-forward Zinfandel – California’s signature grape – punchy Sauvignon Blanc, and award-winning sparklers.
