Le Caprice’s sleek black piano is a legendary part of the fashionable restaurant; diners who’ve tickled its ivories during a night out
include Jools Holland, Paul McCartney and Diana Krall – as well as the nightly performances by the house pianist.
The restaurant has now launched Café Jazz, fortnightly evenings of the coolest jazz and uplifting swing to entertain guests during dinner. The music will pay homage to the glorious jazz age of the
1920s and 1930s – and the restaurant and bar will echo this theme, serving cocktails in cut-glass coupes and employing liveried doormen to welcome diners.
The next performance at Café Jazz will take place on 24 June, when Le Caprice’s house pianist Sally Rowley will perform a mixture of classic jazz sounds with saxophonist Greg Davis and double
bassist Sandy Burnett.
Café Jazz takes place on the second and last Sunday of every month and performances are free to diners. Future dates include: 24 June, 8 July, 29 July, 12 August, 26 August, 9 September, 30
