Trafalgar Square restaurant and bar Albannach has put a very rare bottle of The Balvenie whisky on its menu.
The Balvenie Cask 191 is the last cask of the whisky from the 1950s. Of the 250 bottles filled into the cask on 26 January 1952, only 83 bottles were released in 2002, making it the smallest ever
release by the whisky producers. And, luckily for whisky afficiandos, Albannach has one of them.
Apart from being the smallest ever release of The Balvenie, it is also the first to be matured entirely in sherry casks. The sherry cask is said to have given the whisky a variety of flavours, from
butterscotch to clover, honey, liquorice and chocolate.
The whisky is priced at £750 for a double measure.
