City Cruises launched its speedboat division a few years ago for those keen on adding a little adrenalin to an away-day experience that’s not far from the office. Things start off gently – from Westminster Pier – at a mere 12 knots (22mph) before groups experience ‘speed and awesome aquabatics’, while listening to a recorded commentary by actor Alan Ford. The company’s James Bond-themed tours and treasure hunt experiences started last year and are proving popular. A three-course dinner on the permanently moored R.S. Hispaniola can be added to the experience.
