Hovarda brings the flavours of the Aegean to the heart of Soho. There is a lot to enjoy here, from a quick cocktail to lounge dining, full dinner and after dinner events. But, perhaps the best way to enjoy what Hovarda has to offer is with a private event. That way you and your guests can enjoy the bar to yourselves. Located just a short walk from Picadilly Circus and Leicester Square tube stations, this is a prime location for a party in the heart of London’s bustling city centre.
The best way to start a party, if you ask us, is with some cocktails and canapes. Here these come in the form of modern Greek fare, so you can snack on taramasalata with samphire and lemon, tuna tartare with grapes and date dressing and dolma filled with feta cream and almond creamed potatoes. Slightly more extravagant options include lobster croquettes with cured egg yolk, octopus stew and jumbo prawns with orzo and basil.
To sip, there is a selection of elegant signature cocktails. Try the Hera, a mix of Mastiha-infused rosemary, Martini Reserva Speciale Rubino, xinomavro, citrus and honey, or the Hovarda mule, which features the addition of chilli bitter to the Moscow analogue.
For a sit-down event, there are set menus available. While there are different set menus occupying different price brackets, you can expect top-notch Greek cuisine on show here. You and your guests might start with hand-dived scallops with a bone marrow crust and truffles or kataifi barrel-aged feta with truffle honey and basil. The main course might be a porterhouse steak with confit garlic and spiced salt or lobster linguini with tomato and basil. Dessert will likely be Hovarda’s signature baklava, or budala, made with kataifi, rose water pastry cream, pismaniye candyfloss, sour cherries and pistachios.
