Found between Smithfield Market and Barbican, Malmaison Hotel’s Chez Mal is in a prime location for City bookers. Combining industrial lighting, exposed brick walls and neon signs, its laid-back atmosphere sits well with the steakhouse menu. Cut-to-order USDA Black Angus is the speciality and is served up with indulgent sides like lobster mac & cheese, as well as bok choy with ginger and chilli for something more virtuous. The private dining room, decorated with antique mirrors, can seat up to 14 (or 10 more comfortably). For something slightly more informal, booths of eight line the edge of the main dining room.
Venue review of Malmaison London
The head chef over at the Malmaison Hotel’s in-house restaurant has created a brand new menu for its private dining room. Diners can order from the menu on the day, with three-courses costing a tasty £65pp.
