Carpenters' Hall

About Carpenters' Hall

With a history that harks back to 1429, Carpenters’ Hall has been a venue for meeting, eating and entertaining for hundreds of years. While there have been three iterations of the building, the current architecture was erected in 1960 and continues to be the perfect place to host and entertain.

Nowadays the space can accommodate 350 guests for receptions or 220 people for a sit-down dinner, and with various rooms to make your own it really can be tailored to any event. There are three main spaces – the Entrance Hall, the Reception and the Livery Hall. With beautiful original detailing, the rooms each have an individual look and feel.

Antique panelling and oil paintings surround the walls to create a comfortable, classic backdrop to any situation, and previous functions have included exhibitions and displays as well as business meetings and private dinners. Additionally, aside from the halls, there are a couple of meeting spaces – the Court and the Luncheon rooms – which can be made available if you’d like breakout spaces or to host a presentation, for instance.

If it’s a meal or drinks reception you’re looking for, everything is taken care of by Party Ingredients. This experienced and high-end catering company specialise in tailored menus and bespoke dishes. Whatever the occasion they can tweak something to suit – from canapes and street food stalls right through to fine dining tasting menus. While each event they do is unique you can always expect seasonally led combinations like devilled Dorset crab cakes with lemon butter sauce and wild garlic oil or rump of lamb with a pea puree, fondant potatoes, mint pesto and walnut pangrattato.

Being champions of award-winning English Wines, Party Ingredients are also on hand to ensure your guests are kept topped up at Carpenters’ Hall for the duration of your event.
